5th Annual PickleFest (The Rickhouse, 609 Foster St., Durham) - The Rickhouse hosts this pickle-packed tasting event and marketplace on Sunday. There will be locally-crafted kombucha and kimchi, pickle-flavored beers and a Bloody Mary bar.
With record-high temperatures at the NC State Fair Wednesday, most people were buying ice cream, drinks and slushies. We did happen to capture photos of a few fried foods, though, as well some turkey legs and the largest gummy fish you've ever seen.
Downtown Raleigh Treasure Hunt (Sir Walter Coffee, 145 East Davie Street, Raleigh) - Guests will embark on a thrilling scavenger hunt around downtown Raleigh on Saturday where they will search for clues, solve puzzles and crack codes to unlock the treasure chest and reveal the prize inside. Tickets are $25 per person.
Sour to the People Beer Festival (Hi-Wire Brewing at Golden Belt, 800 Taylor Street, Durham) - This beer festival at Hi-Wire Brewing on Saturday will feature 20 nationwide and local breweries with some of the rarest and sought after sour and wild ales in the Triangle. There will also be food trucks and live music.
Popsicle and Pupsicle Party (Barley Labs, 4015 University Drive, Durham) - Celebrate the Summer Solstice and cool off with a popsicle to dunk in your sparkling wine, cider, or sour beer and a pupsicle for your dog on Friday night.

Fridays on the Front Porch (Carolina Inn, 211 Pittsboro St., Chapel Hill) - Sip on crafted cocktails while listening to live music and enjoying featured food trucks.

NC Symphony Presents: Ben Folds (Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - The singer-songwriter performs and electric crossover event with the North Carolina Symphony at Booth Amphitheatre Saturday night.
Vampire Weekend (Red Hat Amphitheater, 500 S. McDowell St., Raleigh) - The band brings its "Father of the Bride" tour to Red Hat Amphitheater Raleigh on Friday.

Slightly Stoopid (Red Hat Amphitheater, 500 S. McDowell St., Raleigh) - The band brings its "How I Spent My Summer Vacation 2019" tour with special guests Matisyahu, Tribal Seeds, and Hirie will play on Saturday.
Maria Bamford (Carolina Theatre of Durham, 309 W. Morgan St., Durham) - Maria Bamford stars in the semi-autobiographical Netflix comedy series Lady Dynamite, lauded as "revelatory" by Entertainment Weekly and one of 2016's must-see shows by Variety and Rolling Stone. See her on stage Friday.
Styx (Durham Performing Arts Center, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - See the band with special guest Levon at DPAC on Sunday.

Adult Field Day (Compass Rose Brewery, 3201 Northside Drive, Raleigh) - Compass Rose is hosting an Adult Field Day on Saturday. Events include kan jam, corn hole, a keg toss, beer can hungry hippo, giant beer pong, grain sack tic-tac-toe and more. Teams of 2, 4 and 6 can compete.

Cord Color Run 5K (WakeMed Soccer Park, 201 Soccer Park Dr., Cary) - Festivities on Saturday include zumba warmup, yummy food and carnival style games and activities for the whole family. Kids can enjoy a Fun Mile amid color sprays. Funds raised at the 5K Color Run will go towards providing education and empowerment of people in remote rural areas of India.
2019 World Music Day 5K & 10K (Raleigh, 3433 Cartway Lane, Raleigh) - 15 percent of each registration for this Friday race will be donated to Songs of Love, which is a national nonprofit that creates free, personalized, original songs to uplift children and teens currently facing tough medical, physical or emotional challenges.

Beyond Film Festival (The Cary Theater, 122 E Chatham Street, Cary) - Cary's Beyond Film Festival continues through Sunday and features a heroic lineup of films, workshops and fun. Meet the creators of "Batman Forever" at special screening and filmmaking workshops.
Toy Story 4 Grown-Up Cereal Party (Alamo Drafthouse, 2116 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh) - Your ticket to this special screening at Alamo Drafthouse on Friday includes an all-you-can eat cereal party. Embrace your inner child and have breakfast for dinner. And, don't forget your pajamas!
Ponysaurus Brewing Co. Summer Movie Series (Ponysaurus Brewing Co., 219 Hood Street, Durham) - Ponysaurus hosts this free movie summer every Sunday on its patio with beer and $1 snacks.
Movies by Moonlight (Koka Booth Amphitheatre, 8003 Regency Parkway, Cary) - On designated "movie" nights from June through August cinema buffs are invited to attend this family-friendly event that provides the perfect opportunity and atmosphere to sit back, relax and enjoy the stars of the big screen under the stars at one of the region's most popular venues.
