Festivals and food

Summer Daze Festival (Midtown Park at North Hills, 4011 Cardinal at North Hills St., Raleigh) - This Saturday music festival is a celebration of music, local businesses, culture and, of course, summertime vibes. The lineup includes tunes by DJ Nevy, The EFunk Experience, Cisco Adler, and '90s cover band Here's to the Night.

Warehouse District Scavenger Hunt (Tasty Beverage Company, 327 West Davie Street, Raleigh) - Guests will embark on a thrilling scavenger hunt around the Warehouse District on Saturday, where they will search for clues, solve puzzles and crack codes. The hunt will take guests to some of the most historical, artistic, and unique locations around the downtown area.

Triangle VegFest (Durham Armory, 220 Foster St, Durham) - This event celebrates a plant-based lifestyle with 70+ vendors, cooking demos, speakers, food trucks, live music, a kids zone and more. Admission is free.

Food Truck Rodeo (Compass Rose Brewery, 3201 Northside Drive, Raleigh) - Come out to enjoy delicious food, cold brews, live music and shopping on Saturday. The local Roshambo market will feature 20+ local vendors. Jolly's Catering. Cow and The Oak, Baguette About It and Barone Meatball Company will be on site.

Hops & Blues Festival (The Glass Jug, 5410 Highway 55, Durham) - This Saturday festival features 10 local and regional breweries and local musicians.

Woody's Sweet 16 Birthday Bash (Woody's City Market, 205 Wolfe St., Raleigh) - Woody's is celebrating 16 years. Saturday's event features six different bands performing on an outdoor stage, local vendors, Big Slow Tom's Trivia, Music Bingo, R&D Brewing's Beer Truck and more.

National Honey Bee Day Celebration (Old Waynesbourogh Park, 801 U.S. Highway 117 South, Goldsboro) - This family-friendly celebration of bees is Saturday in Goldsboro. Enjoy Local, raw honey and live music, farm equipment and food vendors. See how honey is extracted, check out beekeeping equipment and make your own natural beeswax candle.

2019 Women's International Champions Cup (WakeMed Soccer Park, 201 Soccer Park Drive, Cary) - The tournament, which is the first of its kind, will bring together four of the best women's teams from across the globe to compete in Cary, North Carolina, from August 15-18.

Breaking Benjamin (Coastal Credit Union Music Park, 3801 Rock Quarry Rd., Raleigh) - The band plays in Raleigh on Sunday.

Massive 80's Party with Suicide Blonde (Trali Irish Pub & Restaurant, 3107 Grace Park Drive, Morrisville) - Suicide Blonde is an 80s tribute band that covers all of your favorite artists from that era -- Billy Idol, Heart, Prince and Ozzy Osbourne. They'll perform Saturday evening.

Goodnights Presents: Guy Torry (Goodnight's Comedy Club, 861 W. Morgan St., Raleigh) - Guy has been seen on BET's "Comic View," Comedy Central's "Premium Blend," "Showtime at the Apollo" and "Russell Simmons: Def Comedy Jam" where he made his stand up debut to a national audience. He'll perform Friday and Saturday.

Social Distortion & Flogging Molly (Red Hat Amphitheater, 500 S. McDowell St., Raleigh) - The punk bands perform Sunday night at Red Hat.

A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder (Cantey V. Sutton Theatre at Raleigh Little Theatre, 301 Pogue Street, Raleigh) - Monty's murderous romp is filled with unforgettable music, non-stop laughs and doomed heirs who meet their ends. The show will be Friday and Saturday in Raleigh.

Carolina Music Awards (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - The focus of the Carolina Music Awards is to recognize Carolina artists in rock, hip hop, youth, bluegrass, Americana, country and R&B. Tickets for Saturday's ceremony start around $30.

The Dangling Loafer Comedy Show Feat: Maddie Weiner (Kings, 14 W Martin St., Raleigh) - The North Carolina native's style is described as "irreverent humor...with a streak of brazenness." She'll perform Friday.

Game Grumps Live! (Durham Performing Arts Center, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - Created in 2012 by co-hosts Hanson and Jon Jafari, the series centers around its hosts playing video games and comedically commentating on them.

Art, cocktails and more

Fridays on the Front Porch (Carolina Inn, 211 Pittsboro St., Chapel Hill) - Sip on crafted cocktails while listening to live music and enjoying featured food trucks at Carolina Inn on Friday night.

An Evening with Whiskey Foxtrot (Sugar Magnolia Cafe & Emporium, 219 S White St, Wake Forest) - A regional favorite, this Americana band from Winston-Salem is known for a combination of country, blues, and rock 'n roll.

Art Party (The Mothership, 401 West Geer Street, Durham) - This quarterly gathering began as a show-and-tell for Durham artists of all kinds. RSVP to join Saturday's party or sign up to read, sing, dance, share creations, and discuss your process in 5-minute intervals. All art forms welcome.
