The first weekend of spring is full of events!
Food and fun
Bull City Food & Beer Experience (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - Enjoy great food and beverages at this 7th annual festival on Sunday. There will be more than 30 food vendors and beer samples from breweries.
Brown in the South (Garland and Kings, 14 West Martin Street, Raleigh) - This event will include a collection of acclaimed chefs of Indian descent who have made the American South their home. There will be two events on Sunday at Garland and Kings in downtown Raleigh. First a Q&A with chefs and then a Holi Celebration featuring 10 food stalls and chefs.
Halfway to Hopscotch: 10 Year Anniversary Kick Off (R&D Brewing, 1323 Capital Boulevard, Raleigh) - This party will celebrate 10 years of Hopscotch and the halfway point to the next festival! There will be live music from The Nude Party, more than 60 local vendors, local beer and more fun at R&D Brewing from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The event is free and open to the public.
Beer for Water: World Water Day Beer Tasting (Saint Saviour's Center, 616 Tucker St., Raleigh) - Enjoy live music from Orlando Parker Jr., beer tastings and raffles at this Friday event.
Asheville Comes East Festival (Hi-Wire Brewing at Golden Belt, 800 Taylor Street, Durham) - Hi-Wire Brewing at Golden Belt is hosting its first beer festival on Saturday. The festival will include more than 20 western North Carolina breweries that see limited to no distribution in the Triangle area.
Art in Bloom (NC Museum of Art, 2110 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh) - This four-day festival of flowers kicks off Thursday and runs through Sunday. There will be more than 50 floral interpretations of art in the museum's galleries plus additional events.
A Night to Remember Cocktail Party (Marbles Kids Museum, 201 E Hargett St, Raleigh) - Blondes vs. Brunettes Raleigh holds its annual cocktail party and silent auction Saturday night. Ticket are $50 for players and $75 for guests. Entry includes open bar from Bedlam vodka, Lonerider, RH Barringer and heavy hors d'oeuvres. The event helps raise money for Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association and Blondes vs. Brunettes Raleigh.
UniverSoul Circus (Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek, 3801 Rock Quarry Rd., Raleigh) - See this high-energy show under the big top at Coastal Credit Union Music Park. The show runs through March 31.

11th Annual St. Paddy's 4 Miler (Raleigh Beer Garden, 614 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh) - Don your best kilt for a day of running and fun in downtown Raleigh on Saturday. The nOg Run Club will be doing this annual race at 10:30 a.m. starting at Raleigh Beer Garden. All registered runner receives a shirt, craft beer and medal.
Walk MS (PNC Arena, 1400 Edwards Mill Rd., Raleigh) - This annual walk brings together people living with multiple sclerosis (MS) as well as families, friends and caregivers affected by the disease. It kicks off Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m.

The Music of Queen with the NC Symphony (Meymandi Concert Hall, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - The symphony will rock you with killer Queen hits including "Somebody to Love," "Under Pressure," "We Are the Champions," "Bohemian Rhapsody," and more on Friday and Saturday at Meymandi Concert Hall.
Seth Meyers (Carolina Theatre of Durham, 309 W. Morgan St., Durham) - The Emmy Award-winning writer and current host of “Late Night with Seth Meyers," has two shows at Carolina Theatre of Durham Saturday night.
Heather McDonald (Goodnight's Comedy Club, 861 W. Morgan St., Raleigh) - A comedian, actress and writer, you might recognize Heather from her appearances on "Chelsea Lately." You can see her at Goodnight's Comedy Club Saturday night.
Celtic Woman (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - Both an accomplished recording ensemble and a world-class performing collective, Celtic Woman celebrates Ireland's rich musical and cultural heritage. See them Saturday night.
Jackson Browne (DPAC, 123 Vivian St., Durham) - The singer, songwriter will perform an acoustic concert at DPAC on Friday night.
An Evening with Nils Frahm (Carolina Theatre of Durham, 309 W. Morgan St., Durham) - See this German composer on stage Friday night.
Rodgers & Hammerstein's The King and I (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, 2 E. South St., Raleigh) - This Tony award-winning show features the hits “Getting To Know You,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Hello Young Lovers,” “Shall We Dance” and “Something Wonderful.” See it through Sunday.
