WRAL Wednesday student blog: April 3, 2024

There was a shooting on Tuesday at 10:15 p.m. at the Central Carolina university by Lawson Residence Hall. After the shooting happened, the university was put in lockdown at 10:23. The person that got shot is now in Duke hospital.  

I read a story about retirement crisis. The workers in the labor market will double over the next decade. Social Security payments provide 90% of income for adults. The Social Security trust fund is facing a 75-year deficit. I think this story is sad because adults can't plan.

What I am writing about is an earthquake that happened in Taiwan. It was one of the strongest earthquakes in 25 years. It killed 9 people and 70 workers were trapped. The earthquake was a 7.2. That is just crazy how an earthquake can be that powerful. It caused 25 landslides and damaged 35 roads, bridges and buildings.

A woman was killed just after asking police for protection from an ex-partner. Greek authorities on Tuesday ordered an urgent investigation into woman's fatal stabbing outside an Athens police precinct where she had just requested protection from an ex-boyfriend.    

I found a really scary story but I’m going to write about it. The strongest earthquake in 25 years rocks Taiwan, killing 9 people. 70 miners were trapped in there, hope they’re okay. I’m Zach reporting to your from HSHS, stay safe.

The story that caught my eye is that a teacher was killed by her estranged husband in a murder. Police are still investigating the crime scene. I hope the police find the weapon for evidence. They better find more proof about the teacher.

The story that I picked is of a man dead in a Durham shooting. The reason why I picked it is because that is so sad about what happened.Also because it happened in the afternoon and sometimes shootings happen at night. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a man dead. That is why I picked this one,
