Woman killed after hitting tree with truck in Moore County
Authorities are investigating a fatal car crash Monday night in Moore County. According to authorities, crews were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on North Carolina Highway 690 near Lakebay Road.

Police said a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck ran off the road and hit a tree, pinning a woman inside the truck. She died at the scene.
The victim was later identified as 36-year-old Christina Rose Parton from the West End area of Moore County.
Authorities said Parton was not wearing her seat belt and said speeding and alcohol were contributing factors to the crash.
A dog in the back of the truck sustained a dislocated elbow. An emergency vet said they will be resetting the leg and expect the dog to be okay.
NC Highway 690 has reopened in both directions.
The investigation is ongoing.
