Woman hit, killed by pickup truck on Southern Avenue in Fayetteville
Fayetteville police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Southern Avenue and Quality Road.

Around 6:15 p.m., officers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, they found a 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a woman, who had been struck by the Dodge in the center lane.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the truck was traveling westbound on Southern Avenue when it struck the woman, who was standing in the center turn lane.
The woman was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she later died.
