RALEIGH, N.C. — The NC State Fair opened a Public House in 2017, serving up North Carolina-made beer, wine and cider.

Because it offered beverages for those age 21 and up, it was off limits to kids — and anyone under the age of 21.

But this year, anybody can stroll into the Public House's picnic or beer garden area. That's because they'll be pouring craft soda as well, according to the fair's blog. The Public House is in the Heritage Circle, near the tobacco pavilion, grist mill and flower and garden show.

According to the fair's blog post, Public House will feature craft soda only made in North Carolina, along with another Carolina classic — Cheerwine.

To get a craft soda, you'll need to buy a $5 ticket at the Public House. According to the blog post, only people aged 21 and up can go inside the actual Public House building, so anybody younger will need somebody of legal drinking age to go inside and redeem the soft drink ticket. For the beer, wine or cider options, you'll need to get a $10 ticket.

The Public House is open from noon to 9 p.m. or 10 p.m., during the run of the fair.
