There are a lot of chances to enjoy live music this weekend, plus some great family-friendly events.

Music and more fun

March 1: Balsam Range - See the band at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts.
March 1-2: Wake Forest Film Festival - The Wake Forest Film Festival will spotlight passionate creative and thought-provoking movies by some of today's most promising and accomplished local, national, and international filmmakers. This two-day event is being held at the Wake Forest Renaissance Center for the Arts. Tickets are $20.
March 1-2: NC Symphony's Pink Martini - Pink Martini brings their distinctive style, a captivating fusion of pop, jazz, and classical music, back to the Symphony — with the silky, sultry voice of singer China Forbes featured front and center.
March 1: Retro Bits Comedy Show - Comedians play bad video games with the audience in this hilarious show featuring some of the Triangle's best local comedians. It is happening Friday at 8 p.m. at Rewind Retrobar in Knightdale.
March 1-3: Peter Pan at DPAC - This high-flying Broadway musical kicked off in February and has been thrilling audiences of all ages for close to 70 years and is now being brought back to life in a new adaptation.
March 3: Compositions by Her: A Celebration of Women in Music - The Durham Symphony Orchestra presents this concert at the Hayti Heritage Center in honor of Women's History Month.
March 3: Ladysmith Black Mambazo - See this South African male choral group at Carolina Theatre on Sunday.
March 3: March Drag Brunch - This event at Raleigh Beer Garden is an afternoon filled with glamour, laughter and the art of drag - plus brunch!

Markets

March 2: Art-n-Soul Market at Waverly Place - Craft booths, music and more in Cary. Linger and converse with the areas best local artisans while enjoying live music on the green.
March 2: MAKRS Society Munch Market - This monthly foodie and art market series at Raleigh Iron Works features 30+ local vendors, live music, a mini food truck rodeo and more.
March 2: The Market at NCMA: NC Indigenous Artist Festival - Join open studios to create alongside traditional basket weavers, Southeastern gorget makers, and more for the whole family at NCMA.
March 3: RRG Hidden Block Party - Raleigh Retro Gamers are hosting this event at Hidden Block Games at Gateway Plaza in Raleigh on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. There will be more than 50 vendors, retro and modern games, consoles and pop culture items. There will also be music and food trucks. Admission is free.

Family Fun

March 1-10: UniverSoul Circus - This family-friendly circus kicked off in February and will hold multiple March shows at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at the Walnut Creek Circus Grounds. Tickets are available online.
March 2: Durham Mini Con Spring - Durham Mini Con Spring is a mini one-day convention in the Durham Armory featuring comics, collectibles, local comic artists, local vendors, cosplay and more. It is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5.
March 2: Say Yes to The Prom Dress: Free prom dress event - Any high school student who could benefit from a free prom dress can "shop" hundreds between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Tarboro Community Center in Raleigh. There will be prizes, music, food, private dressing rooms and feel-good vibes. The event is free, but register online.
March 2: Future Me Fair - Children can learn about various trades and professions during this event at Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Museum admission is required for this event.
