Educators wore purple and orange on Wednesday after a video went viral on social media of a student slapping his teacher twice across the face.
Jenny Easter, the president of the Forsyth County Association of Educators, says Parkland staff came up with the idea to wear purple and orange.
"Parkland chose that, because that’s her favorite colors," she said.
"It's a way for us to kind of come together and just say, 'we're here, we see you, and we want to support you through this time, and it’s going to get better.'"
