Wayne County investigates shooting incident on Brookside Way

At approximately 4:45 p.m., they responded to reports of a barricaded individual.

Upon reaching the scene, they found an unresponsive person in a ditch.

Initially, the call reported a barricaded suspect. However, according to dispatch, this turned out not to be the case.

Upon further investigation, it was found that the suspect was walking across a field behind the home when first responders arrived.

The suspect was approached and arrested without any incident.

The SWAT team entered and cleared the house.

A large police presence remains on the scene.

The suspect and victim are believed to have known one another.

The victim was transported to the hospital, and their condition is unknown at this time.
