Cary's Winter Wonderland

There might have been wintry weather in this weekend's forecast, but there is a 100 percent chance of snow in Cary on Jan. 26 and Jan. 27 for the town's Winter Wonderland event at Bond Park.

Registration is open now for Cary residents. It will open up on Dec. 18 for non-Cary residents. This event almost always sells out.

Participants are invited to enjoy manmade snow and take advantage of a special snow tubing adventure during a series of 45-minute sessions, according to a press release. New this year: A special parent-child session is available on Saturday, Jan. 27, for those younger than 5 who would like to tube with a parent (no older siblings). The fee is $35 per pair.

Snow tubing for single riders is $19 and limited to ages 5 and up. Snow tubing areas are available for varied skill levels; registered parents are welcome to assist their children as needed, the press release says. Snow tubes are provided.

There's also an opportunity for groups of up to 15 people. Group registration is available at any session, space permitting, and is $299. You must register the group in person at Bond Park Community Center.

For more information and to register, Cary's website has the details.
