Wake Forest man charged with murder of sister, assaulting mother with knife

Edmond Eaddy, 20, was charged with the murder of his sister and seriously injuring his mother with a knife at a Wake Forest home.

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — A Wake Forest man has been charged with murdering his sister and assaulting his mother.

Court documents show Edmond Dwayne Eaddy was charged with the murder of Nyla Denae Eaddy, his 24-year-old sister. Dena Coston Eaddy, his mother, was assaulted with a knife.

Edmond Eaddy, 20, was charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.

A town spokesperson confirmed the crimes happened at a home on Polanski Drive. Police responded to a reported stabbing just before midnight on Wednesday.

Edmond Eaddy is being held on no bond at Wake County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

WRAL News spoke Wednesday with Arturo Macaltao, who is a neighbor.

"[I] had no idea what was going on," he said. "[I] saw an ambulance pull up later."

Macaltao described the Eaddys as a "great family."

"I am shocked by what I am finding out today," Macaltao said.
