WAKE FOREST, N.C. — A man accused of trespassing on school property three months ago is facing a new charge after police say he threatened elementary students via Facebook.

Officers with the Wake Forest Police Department arrested Arthur Vladimir Kochetov, 33, of Wake Forest in connection with the new charge on Monday, police said in a written statement.

Kochetov was charged with communicating threats for statements made via Facebook and was being held Tuesday in the Wake County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond, police said.

The online threats were targeted at Jones Dairy Elementary School, located at 1100 Jones Dairy Road. Police did not say when the threats were made.

A warrant for a trespassing incident was issued in June after Kochetkov was reportedly on the school playground while wearing military fatigues. After that incident, the school hired an armed off-duty officer.

The school's principal released this statement Tuesday:

"I want to reiterate - this action was taken as a precautionary measure. The person who made the threat is in custody. There is no threat to our school. We are staying in close contact with law enforcement to ensure that we are able to respond to any change in the situation."

Kochetov's mother, Lessia Kochetov, said he was also caught trespassing at the school in 2014 but insisted he is not a danger to staff or students.

"They don't know Arthur, who he is. To them, he's a threat. To me, he is a child who has mental illness," Lessia Kochetkov said.

According to his mother, Kochetov was diagnosed as bipolar and has post-traumatic stress disorder.

Police say an investigation is ongoing.
