NCCU survey finds extensive food insecurity in state

Seventeen percent of more than 1,300 people surveyed by North Carolina Central University say there has been a day in the past week where their household hasn't had enough food. A separate question asked respondents if they plan to share meals with those outside of their households for Thanksgiving or other winter holidays, and 78 percent said yes or maybe.
