Like many retailers, Victoria's Secret is struggling to compete with online shopping -- but some unsatisfied customers cite the brand's expensive pricing, lack of inclusively in advertisements and limited sizes for its apparent downfall.
It's not just the prices that are turning customers away. Victoria's Secret brand swimsuits appear to come in only sizes extra-small to large. Extra-large sizes and cup sizes for women with larger chests are not listed.
The brand also received backlash in 2018 when Chief Marketing Officer Ed Razek gave an interview to Vogue Magazine stating that the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show shouldn’t include “transsexuals” because the show is a “fantasy.” Razek also dismissed the idea of using plus-size models, stating: “We attempted to do a television special for plus-sizes [in 2000]. No one had any interest in it, still don't.”
