Trendy Cary boutique focuses on comfort, community

Christmas shopping can be tricky, and that's why boutiques are great. With a selection of locally-made, hard-to-find items picked especially for their quality, comfort and quirkiness, it's much easier to find that "perfect" gift for your mom, sister or best friend.

Violet's is full of everything that's trendy right now -- like inspirational quotes, sassy t-shirts and printed socks -- but there are plenty of surprises inside the boutique, too.

I loved these key rings by JoJo, a brand that makes jewelry out of recycled leather and keys, and this fun glass "snack bag" that is shaped like a disposable potato chip bag.

These metallic earrings also caught my eye, and I loved that a portion of sales go to support women's initiatives around the world.

In fact, many of the brands sold at Violet's flaunt some kind of charitable component -- like an eyewear brand that donates a pair of their sunglasses each time a pair is purchased.

The clothes at Violet's are certainly worth mentioning, too. Although the boutique carries plenty of stylish pieces that are perfect for a night out, I enjoyed perusing through the many variety of soft and comfortable, yet cute, shirts and dresses that radiate coziness.

Violet's carries a variety of sizes and can fit a variety of budgets, too. The boutique is spacious yet warm, and there is plenty of room to try on clothes or wander.
