Traffic lights working again after squirrel causes outage at Capital Blvd. intersection in Wake Forest

The power outage was caused by an "unfortunate squirrel," according to Wake Forest police.

The traffic lights were out Sunday morning on Capital Boulevard in Wake Forest, but they are now working again.

Wake Forest police were directing traffic at the intersection of South Main Street/US 1A and Dr. Calvin Jones Highway/NC 98 Bypass due to a traffic signal outage.

The power outage was caused by an "unfortunate squirrel," according to Wake Forest police.

Power has been restored to affected customers in areas around South Main and Tyler Run.
