Three injured after being hit by car near downtown Raleigh

Three bicyclists were injured Sunday after they did not stop at a stop sign and were hit by a car in Raleigh, authorities said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Three people were injured Sunday after they did not stop at a stop sign while riding a bike and were hit by a car in Raleigh, authorities said.

According to authorities, the incident happened near E. Cabarrus Street and S. East Street at about 4:40 p.m.

A 15-year-old, a 12-year-old and a 5-year-old were injured. The 12-year-old and the 15-year-old were in critical condition on Sunday night, authorities said, and the 15-year-old was undergoing surgery. The 5-year-old was conscious.

Authorities said no charges will be filed against the driver.
