It was a surprisingly busy week after the March 5 primaries, with post-election drama playing out all across the state as well as extensive new polling results released from a WRAL partnership with SurveyUSA on some of the biggest races on the ballot, plus which issues are or aren't driving voters.

Michele Morrow, the Republican candidate for state superintendent of public instruction, is making national headlines after calling for the execution of Biden and numerous other Democratic politicians. The polling shows she's tied with Democratic nominee Mo Green in their race.

In a close primary for a state legislative seat, the Democratic incumbent who appears to have lost is now alleging political shenanigans and "irregularities" may be cause for further investigation. And while some of the closest primaries are going to runoffs to pick a winner, one won't: Trump hired Mark Walker to work on his presidential campaign, so that Walker would drop his opportunity for a runoff against Trump-endorsed candidate Addison McDowell.
