WILKES COUNTY, N.C. — An Amber Alert out of Tennessee has ties to North Carolina, as the suspects and missing vehicle were discovered in Wilkes County on Friday night.

The 15-month-old little girl who hasn't been seen in nearly two months was reported missing this week.

Evelyn Boswell was last seen the day after Christmas in Tennessee, but her mother did not report her missing until earlier this week. Friday night, authorities found a lead in the case near Boone -- the gray BMW and two suspects they'd been searching for.

WIlliam McCloud, 33, and Angela Boswell, 42, were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. Out-of-state fugitive warrants for outstanding charges in Tennessee were also issued. Both were being held without bond and would have their first court appearance on Monday.

There was no sign of Evelyn.

The Sheriff of Sullivan County, Tennessee, said the girl's mother, Maggie Boswell, has not been providing accurate information about the case.

"This case is unlike anything I've ever been involved in. We have a child that's not been seen by the parents or certain family members in almost two months and was just reported this week," he said.

Boswell said she didn't contact police because she thought the person who took her daughter would disappear.

She spoke with reporters Friday, saying, "Well, the reason I didn't report it or anything is 'cause I knew the person who had her and I didn't want them to run away with her."

Boswell said the people who took her daughter were watching Evelyn while she was at work.

"So I'm just worried about, you know, like where they're at, what they're doing with her at this point in time," said Boswell.

Evelyn's father is active military and stationed in Louisiana.

The delay in reporting the girl's disappearance has the sheriff baffled and concerned. He said, "She was last seen in December, and as you know these cases are already time sensitive."

Evelyn's mother said, "I love her and I miss her and I will be with her as soon as I can get to her, any way I can."
