RALEIGH, N.C. — I shared details about an event sponsored by Her Spark the other day and thought I'd share this one too.
TechGirlz aims to encourage middle school girls to explore careers in technology. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Dec. 6, the group will host a special workshops for participant to learn about WordPress.
Here's the event description: "Ever think about starting your own business someday or possibly creating your own blog? Learning WordPress now will help get you ready to share with the world! In this workshop, students will create their own website using WordPress. They will learn how to set up a WordPress.com website and add their own content via web pages and posts. Students will also customize their website using the theme, menu, and widget features in WordPress, all without coding."

It takes place at The Well, which is across from Broughton High School in Raleigh. Computers will be provided for students to use during the program. It's designed for girls in fifth to ninth grade.

More details are on TechGirlz' website.
