Take the Kids: Play - We checked out Kids Together's new misting garden
It's a great addition to this park, which already has so much to offer for kids.
Posted — UpdatedThe misting arches are the culmination of years of work to raise money for the project at the playground, which was designed years ago as a place where kids of all abilities can play.
Kids Together already has a lot of opportunities for kids to explore their different senses - sand, swaying grasses, fragrant plants and more. But a water feature was missing.
Now, with the misting garden, the park has more sensory play - and a place to cool off.
The misting garden is impossible to miss. You'll find it between the playground's popular dragon play piece and its central play structure.
It features purple arches that each include jets that gently mist water when a button is pushed. There's a seating area right next to the misters with a shade structure over it (which is a fantastic and thoughtful addition).
Scattered around the misting garden are four small bronze chimeras, which are mash ups of different animals - a rabbit and a turtle or a cat and an owl, for instance.
Kids Together already is a fantastic playground with a large selection of play pieces, swings, sand play and more. What's more, this playground already has some great shady areas over and around where kids play and parents sit.
It's a great addition to this park, which already has so much to offer for kids.
