Woman seriously injured in downtown Raleigh shooting

A large police presence on Friday blocked a major road in downtown Raleigh after a reported shooting.

Police responded to a report of a person shot in the 200 block of Salisbury Street around 9:09 a.m.

A woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

At least six police vehicles were on the scene, with four blocking Salisbury Street, closing the road between Martin and Hargett streets while detectives investigate.

A firetruck, EMS and ambulance were also on the scene. Yellow police tape was strung across the road.

Investigators were focused on a white parked car.

Police say there is no immediate threat to the community.
