Rocky Mount police on Wednesday arrested a woman and are searching for a man suspected of robbing a bank.

Police said the robbery happened at 11 a.m. at the PNC Bank at 1280 Benvenue Road.

Montrell Pitt, 28, entered the bank with an “edged weapon” and demanded money from the teller, police said.

After getting the money, police said Pitt left the scene in a stolen silver Toyota Tacoma. Police said Pitt abandoned the Tacoma along Airport Road in Rocky Mount. Investigators found the Tacoma and said it was stolen from the Center Street area just before the robbery.

Police said Pitt got into another car driven by Iesha Lloyd, 32. According to police, Lloyd had five children in the car.

Lloyd drove Pitt from the scene and was later found in Edgecombe County on Silent Night Road. The Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office helped with the traffic stop, which ended in Lloyd’s arrest.

None of the children were injured, police said. They were placed in temporary custody with a family member.

Lloyd is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, accessory after the fact and five counts of child endangerment. Lloyd received a total bond of $1 million secured and remains at the Nash County Jail.

Montrell Pitt, 28, is considered armed and dangerous.
