Woman charged with possessing stolen firearm in fatal Apex Academy Sports shooting

Pittsboro woman charged in Apex Academy Sports shooting

A Pittsboro woman has been charged in a shooting outside an Academy Sports + Outdoors store in Apex from April.

On Thursday, Apex police said Siomara Sibrian was charged with two counts of felony larceny and one count of possession of a stolen firearm.

Dayve Sanchez, 18, was killed in the shooting from April 11 involving a State Bureau of Investigation agent at Nichols Plaza.

Siomara, 21, is in custody at the Wake County Sheriff’s Office.

"The female allegedly grabbed some box of ammunition that was sitting on the counter display, and stole the box of ammunition and ran out of the store with that box of ammunition," Apex Police Chief Jason Armstrong said. "And, the male that was with her, ran out of the store with her."

The SBI agent involved in the shooting was identified as Denzel Ward.
