Woman arrested for hit-and-run after 11-year-old hit in Fuquay-Varina

A woman was arrested after an 11-year-old was hit by a car Monday night in Fuquay-Varina.

Police said the juvenile was transferred to UNC Rex in Raleigh and is expected to live. The 11-year-old was transferred to a Raleigh hospital because he needed to be watched further due to nausea and vomiting, according to police.

Police said it happened Monday evening on South Judd Parkway near South Main Street.

Lisa Turner, 51, of Fuquay-Varina, has been charged with the following crimes:

• Felony hit-and-run
• Careless and reckless driving
• Improper use of traffic lane
