A woman is facing multiple charges after she was involved in a late-night crash with a stolen ambulance, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.

On Saturday around 10:30 p.m., deputies said they responded to I-73 to assist in a search for a stolen Piedmont Triad Ambulance & Rescue (PTAR) ambulance from the emergency area of Randolph Health/Hospital.

Once the vehicle was located, a chase ensued after the driver refused to stop. Troopers joined the chase, taking the lead in the area of Randleman Road near Guilford County.

The vehicle stopped in Greensboro near Holden Road when the driver, 34-year-old Gretchen Shaylyn Patterson, collided with several trooper vehicles.
