Winston-Salem business owner loses food truck and home to fire

A fire early Saturday morning resulted in the loss of a Winston-Salem business owner’s home and food truck.

The owner of Luciano’s Taqueria food truck, Luciano Perez, told WXII he and another person inside the home were awakened around 6 a.m. by a neighbor alerting him of the fire, which initially began in his food truck.

The flames then made their way to Perez’s home and caused severe damage.

Perez said that the fire department told him the cause of the fire was an electrical issue within the food truck.

Another local business, Hoots Beer Co., created a GoFundMe page to help Perez. As of Monday morning, $11,770 had been raised.
