What's open and closed on Thanksgiving in the Triangle? Many grocery and retail stores are closed completely or are shutting down early on Thanksgiving Day 2023.

A number of grocery stores will be closing between 2 pm and 4 pm on Nov. 23. Other major stores like Walmart, Target and Publix will be closed all day. Many Walgreens and CVS locations will be open Thursday.

Thanksgiving grocery store hours

• Aldi is closed on Thanksgiving Day.
• Big Lots is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at most Triangle area locations according to their website.
• BJ's Wholesale Club is closed on Thanksgiving Day.
• Carlie C's is open until 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
• Costco is closed on Thanksgiving Day.
• Dollar General is open at many locations from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, according to their website.
• Dollar Tree is open at many locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, but some locations may have extended hours.
• Family Dollar is open on Thanksgiving but hours vary. Check the store finder on their website.

Thanksgiving drug store hours

• CVS: Most CVS stores are open until 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day 2023. Hours may vary from store to store. The pharmacy hours at stores will vary as well, and some pharmacies will be closed all day. Check the CVS website or contact your store for specific hours. CVS stores located in Target will not be open because Target stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day.
• Walgreens: Most Walgreens stores are open 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day 2023. Some 24-hour Walgreens locations and 24-hour pharmacies will remain open. Hours may vary from store to store. Check the Walgreens website or contact your store for specific hours.
