K Michelle - K Michelle will perform Saturday, Feb. 25, at The Ritz.

Jagged Little Pill at DPAC - Joy, love, heartache, strength, wisdom, catharsis, life - everything we've been waiting to see in a Broadway show - is here in the exhilarating, fearless new musical based on Alanis Morissette's world-changing music. The show runs Feb. 28 through March 5.

NC Symphony: Mozart Requiem - Performances will be held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 24-25, at Meymandi Concert Hall.

Riverdance - A powerful and stirring reinvention of this beloved favorite, celebrated over the world for its Grammy award‐winning score and the thrilling energy and passion of its Irish and international dance. They have five shows this weekend at DPAC.

Carrie: The Musical - Carrie White is a teenage outcast who longs to fit in. See the show based on the Stephen King novel on Saturday, Feb. 25, at Jones Auditorium at Meredith College.

Mardi Gras at Durty Bull - Mardi Gras is coming to Durty Bull on Sunday, Feb. 26, with trivia from 2 to 4 p.m., live music from 4 to 6 p.m. and Mr. A's Beignets. Toss on your mask, grab your beads and join the party brigade!

Lobster Boil at Raleigh Beer Garden - Reserve a table for two for $60. The Saturday, Feb. 25, seafood boil includes lobster tails, scallops, mussels, shrimp, corn, sausage and red potatoes -- plus great beer and live music!

Comedy Night at Fortnight Brewing - Need a laugh? Come to Fortnight on Sunday, Feb. 26, for a show of some of the best comedians in the area! Tickets are $10.

Family-Friendly Events

Now-April 9 - LuminoCity Light Festival: - Experience the world-famous LuminoCity immersive wonderland of lights at Pullen Park. This colorful light diplay is an immersive experience for families to enjoy and opens this weekend! From light art displays, motion dinosaur world, historical carousel ride, and cherry blossom festival at night, you will be amazed by the unprecedented beauty and experience under the illumination of night and lights. Tickets are $25 for adults and $18 for kids.

Feb. 25: Planet Walk (ages 10 and up) - Did you know that Prairie Ridge Eco Station in Raleigh has a "Planet Walk"? This program will follow the trail of planets, and we'll talk about some of the citizen science projects where you can contribute to the study of space! This program is for ages 10 and up. Please dress for the weather and be prepared to take a longer walk (about a mile, up and down hills).

Feb. 25 - Goat and Horse Snuggles: 101 - During this class for all ages, spend one hour relaxing, letting go of the week's stress, learning new animal petting/massage techniques, and enjoying some goat and horse cuddles! Tickets are $20 and the event takes place at the Avery Family Farm in Durham.

Feb. 25: Celebrating Black Brilliance - Head to the library for the latest in the Wake County Library series Celebrating Black Brilliance. This Saturday, meet Illustrator Vanessa Brantley-Newton for an interactive program with books, music, rhymes, and movement to nurture pre-reading skills. This event takes place at the Wake Forest Community Library.

Feb. 25: What Crayola Color Are You? - Come join us for an intergenerational event to learn about the girl who inspired Crayola to create Colors of the World crayons and markers. Test out Crayola Colors of the World crayons and markers to see which color is "you", and create a self portrait! This takes place at the Southgate Community Library in Raleigh from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Feb. 25: Free Youth Movie Matinee - Head to the Holly Springs Cultural Arts center for a showing of the Disney movie "The Princess and the Frog". This is a free, public event sponsored by the Holly Springs MLK Jr. Committee.
