Food, drink and festivals

African American Cultural Festival (City Plaza, downtown Raleigh) - This two-day festival celebrations African American culture through art, music, food and community. Check it out on Saturday and Sunday in City Plaza.

Durham Food Truck Rodeo (Durham Central Park, 502 Foster St., Durham) - Enjoy live music and a large selection of cuisine from local food trucks on Sunday afternoon.

Award Winners Beer Dinner (Oak and Dagger, 18 Seaboard Ave., Raleigh) - Enjoy this end of summer celebration on Friday night. Enjoy award-winning beers with a special food pairing and commentary by Master Brewer Pete McCabe.

Labor Day Crawl (Coglin's, 226 Fayetteville St., Raleigh) - NC Event Pics hosts this bar crawl on Sunday night. The tour will hit up at least four locations around Fayetteville Street. Tickets start at $10. ​​​​​

GlowRage (Lincoln Theatre, 126 E. Cabarrus St., Raleigh) - Expect lots of lights, music and paint Friday night at Lincoln Theatre. This party includes gallons and gallons of neon paint while you enjoy music from DJs.

Pawpaw Pawp Up (Funny Girl Farm, 504 Erwin Road, Durham) - This Durham farm will be hosting a event on Saturday celebrating North America's largest native fruit, pawpaws. There will be a children's music event, baked goods and more.

Music and Shopping Patchwork Market (Fullsteam, 726 Rigsbee Avenue, Durham) - This monthly market features local makers and vintage vendors for a unique shopping experience. Check it out at Fullsteam Brewery on Saturday.

Kid Rock and Brantley Gilbert (Coastal Credit Union Music Park, 3801 Rock Quarry Rd., Raleigh) - The two bring their Red Blooded RocknRoll Redneck Extravaganza tour to Raleigh Saturday night.

Friday Night Tributes (Midtown Park, 4011 Cardinal at North Hills St., Raleigh) - Head to North Hills on Friday night for a night of live music from Beggars Banquet performing a tribute to the Rolling Stones. There will also be food trucks.

Movies

Yellow Submarine (NCMA, 2110 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh) - Enjoy an outdoor screening of this film featuring the Beatles on Friday night.

Coco Fiesta Fantastica (NCMA, 2110 Blue Ridge Rd., Raleigh) - Take a trip through the Land of the Dead at this movie party at the N.C. Museum of Art on Saturday night. There will be live music, performers, food trucks and more.

Superman (Ponysaurus, 219 Hood St., Durham) - Enjoy a screening of this classic film on Sunday at Ponysaurus. There will $1 snacks.
