WakeMed signs two-year contract with Cigna

WakeMed Health & Hospitals has signed a two-year contract with Cigna that will give in-network access to WakeMed providers for all Cigna commercial plans and Marketplace Exchange (individual and family plan) members.

The agreement begins on Jan. 1, 2024 and comes after months of negotiations.

The contract gives Cigna members with in-network access to WakeMed’s services, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, 210 PET Imaging and specialty care physicians.

WakeMed Primary Care providers remain in-network under a separate contract.
