Just a quick reminder for Wake County Public School System families that the deadline for magnet and year-round school applications is Jan. 28.

I wrote more about this in November after the application period opened. But there are some virtual events coming up this month where you can explore your options and learn more.

Here's what's scheduled:

Virtual Parent Information Sessions for Magnet, Year-Round and Early College schools

  • 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Jan. 14

Virtual Magnet Elementary Mini Fair

  • 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Jan. 12

Virtual Magnet Middle Mini Fair

  • 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Jan. 14

More information about these programs and Wake's school options are on the school system's website.
