Wake County firefighter charged with 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor

A Wake County firefighter has been dismissed after being charged with child sex crimes in Guilford County.

The Guilford County Sheriff's Office charged Andrew Kinzie with 10 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Kinzie had worked for the Northern Wake Fire Department since 2019 and resigned on Feb. 27.

His arrest is part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation going on across North Carolina.

Kinzie, 34, was part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation and arrested on Wednesday. Kinzie posted a $20,000 bond and was released from the Guilford County Detention Center.
