Fathers with children on the autism spectrum are invited to attend a virtual conference on Saturday from the UNC Autism Research Center.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. and will focus on lived experiences of fathers of autistic children. The event will feature TEDx speaker Robert Naseef and author and professor Michael Hannon, who are both fathers of children with autism. Award-winning broadcaster Dwayne Ballen, whose son has autism, will be moderating a panel discussion called "Dads Like Us."

Ballen and Dr. Joe Piven, director of the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities, founded this conference in 2019 to address the challenges fathers face raising a child on the autism spectrum and let fathers know they are not alone.

Registration for the event is $10. Get more information on the event's website.
