Updated Softball Rankings: Six undefeated teams remain through Mid-April

HighSchoolOT has released updated statewide top 25 and area code top 15 softball rankings. There are some big changes after a couple of weeks of intense competition during spring break.

Only six undefeated teams remain in the state: 14-0 Southwestern Randolph, 17-0 McMichael, 14-0 West Wilkes, 13-0 SouthWest Edgecombe, 13-0 Enka, and 12-0 Chatham Central.

Mutliple teams have fallen out of the statewide poll after losses: West Johnston, East Columbus, Richlands, South View, Mooresville, East Rowan, Scotland, and Southern Nash.

D.H. Conley, East Lincoln, Bandys, Northside of Beaufort County, South Stokes, North Davidson, Marvin Ridge, and Bear Grass Charter joined.

The area code power rankings are led by Conley, Southwestern Randolph, West Stanly, Enka, Swansboro, and Chatham Central, respectively.

The HSOT Statewide Top 25 poll ranks the 25 best teams in North Carolina regardless of eligible association or classification. Additionally, HighSchoolOT produces Area Code Power Rankings that list the best 15 teams in each of the state's six area codes. For the purposes of consistency, HighSchoolOT divides the area codes by county line. Whichever area code covers the majority of the land in a county is the one that the schools in that county will fall under.

Schools that play in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association, or North Carolina Christian School Association are eligible to be ranked.
