The University of North Carolina at Wilmington's Class of 2020 graduation ceremony that was originally scheduled for August 7 and 8 has now been moved to December.

The graduation will be held in conjunction with the university's fall graduation ceremony.

Since North Carolina extended Phase Two into July 17, UNCW said in a release it would not have time to plan the Class of 2020 ceremony.

"We cannot be sure that Phase 3 will allow large events for the number of people we’d anticipate attending our ceremonies, even though they were to take place outdoors," the statement said. "We do not believe it is fair to wait until at least July 17 to make a decision about ceremonies taking place just three weeks later."

Updates can be found on the university's website.
