UNC Police investigating multiple electric scooter thefts on campus

UNC Police is investigating multiple thefts of electric scooters this month.

Police said the thefts happened between Sept. 14-25 at Carmichael, Craige, Morrison and Joyner residence halls. The thefts also happened at Granville Towers South, Phillips Hall and Graham Memorial Hall, police said.

UNC Police are not ruling out the possibility that the thefts are related.

Police recommend using a U-lock to secure a scooter. Scooter owners are required to park their scooters in parking areas designated specifically for their vehicles and to register their scooters with UNC Transportation and Parking.
