Uber driver robbed at gunpoint in Garner by man in red jumpsuit

The Uber driver told police a one-legged man with crutches robbed him at gunpoint while he was dropping off a rider.

An Uber driver was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday morning, according to Garner police.

After midnight, police officers responded to an apartment building at 100 Wickerleaf Way, near White Oak in Garner.

The Uber driver told police a one-legged man with crutches robbed him at gunpoint while he was dropping off a rider.

According to the Uber driver, the man took his phone and jewelry.

The suspect was described as a Black man with medium build in his 20s or early 30s. He was as 5 feet 6 inches tall, had one leg and was on crutches. He was wearing a red jumpsuit.

The man was last seen in the area of 400 Hillgrove Lane. Garner police and a K9 unit searched for the man but were unable to find him.
