Tree falls on power lines along Glenwood Avenue

Duke Energy crews on Thursday were working to restore power to a north Raleigh neighborhood.

At noon, fewer than 200 customers were without power, down from 1,000 at 8:30 a.m. Multiple stoplights in the area were out at the height of the outage, but those were repaired.

Several downed trees and a transformer were blocking Glenwood Avenue near Deblyn Avenue.

Destinee Patterson spoke to neighbors about what they experienced.

The city of Raleigh thinks the tree was rotting and fell, but officials are not 100% sure of cause.

Raleigh police and Duke Energy are on scene to resolve the issue.
