A tractor-trailer carrying produce caught fire Thursday in Interstate 40 East, creating heavy onlooker delays during the busy morning commute.
A North Carolina state trooper told WRAL News the fire was caused by a tire that caught fire and spread to the trailer and cab.
Before 7:15 a.m., two right lanes were closed on I-40 East near Exit 306 for U.S. Highway 70 in Garner.
No one was injured.
A viewer sent in photos of the fire, and you can see the tractor-trailer being engulfed by the flames.
