The force is strong in one small North Carolina town.

Grover, which is located in Cleveland County and sits near the South Carolina border, is home to two streets named after popular "Star Wars" characters.

Yoda Drive sits less than a quarter mile away from Darth Maul Drive. The streets are both just over 2 miles from the South Carolina border.

According to the North Carolina Museum of History, Darth Maul Drive was created on May 18, 1999, one day before "Star Wars" Episode I - The Phantom Menace" premiered. Sith lord Darth Maul was introduced in that film.

Just two years later on Jan. 5, 2001, Yoda Drive was created.

The plats of land were both named by Brenda Anderson, who was establishing a subdivision there at the time.

Anderson told WRAL Wednesday that her son was a huge "Star Wars" fan at the time. When coming up with the name for the streets, the surveyor asked her son who his favorite "Star Wars" characters were and he responded, "Yoda and Darth Maul."

Anderson's son is now 36 and still collects "Star Wars" items.

"We are big fans," Anderson said.

While Anderson doesn't live on the streets, she still owns 17 houses there.

In Chapel Hill, there is an Ewok connection.

Angie Spong and Desmond Mullen said they have lived on Endor Drive since it was created in 2009. They reside with their young daughter. The street shares a name with the moon of Endor, where the Ewoks are from.

In Wendell, there is also a Yoda Drive located off of Turnipseed Road.
