Three charged in daylight shooting at Sheetz in Fuquay-Varina

Three people have been arrested in connection with a Wednesday afternoon shooting at a Sheetz station.

Police responded to the Sheetz, located at 1885 Broad St., after 3:30 p.m.

Kyric Timothy Cowell, 20, of Fuquay-Varina, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

Kenya Lashawn Davis, 20, of Brooklyn, NY, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and resist, delay or obstruct.

Shawan Wayne Lorenzo Gist Jr., 20, of Fuquay-Varina, was charged with going armed to terror of the public, assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm in the city limits, resist, delay or obstruct, no operator’s license, hit and run, careless and reckless driving and no insurance.

No details were released about the shooting, but police said two cars were involved.

The suspects were all being held at the Wake County Detention Center.

Fuquay-Varina police said more charges may be coming.
