Theatre Raleigh has some new programs and shows for kids and families coming up this fall.

Here is what's on the schedule.

The Adventures of Peter Rabbit & His Friends

The downtown Raleigh theater company will open its first fall family show with "The Adventures of Peter Rabbit & His Friends." The show runs on select days from Oct. 5 to Oct. 21 at the Kennedy Theatre at the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids and available online now.

The show, according to the description, weaves together five delightful tales into an engaging story about their creator, Beatrix Potter - one of the most widely-read children's authors of all time.

The 55-minute play is written by Joseph Robinette, a Tony Award and Drama Desk Award nominee and recipient of The Charlotte B. Chorpening Playwright Award. It's great for all ages, but best enjoyed by children in kindergarten to fifth grade, according to Theatre Raleigh.

Musical Theatre Madness

Theatre Raleigh also is launching a musical theater program for kids ages 7 to 14.

During the 14-week series, which begins Sept. 11, students will attend weekly classes where they'll learn a variety of musical theater numbers, including vocals and choreography. On the last day, they'll perform for their parents and invited guests. Tuition is $350. More details are on Theatre Raleigh's website.
