Blizzard doesn't stop couple's outdoor wedding

Adam and Sally Irujo had been looking forward to Jan. 29 for a long time.

It was their projected wedding date for 14 months. Sally said they weren't going to be deterred by a little snow.

Or a lot of snow, like the amount that fell during a massive snowstorm that happened concurrently with their outdoor ceremony in Providence, Rhode Island.

"We thought it was going to be really hard, and then it all came together," Sally said. "The Providence Library worked with us so well. All of our vendors somehow were available the next day. I think it was just meant to be."

Like most major winter storms in New England, it drew comparisons to the infamous blizzard of '78, which paralyzed the region for days.

"We're so psyched," said bride Sally. "The snow couldn't stop us. It's so amazing all these people we love around us here to share this day with us and celebrate. And hopefully have a snowfall fight once I get some gloves on these fingers."
