The third-annual HighSchoolOT boys indoor track & field all-state team features 11 athletes making an appearance on the team for the second or third time, led by East Burke senior Kenneth Byrd, who made his sixth appearance in three years.

The all-state team is based on either N.C. High School Athletic Association championship performance or the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association invitational, which functions as the unofficial championship.

Previous All-State Teams, Final Rankings

The full teams are listed below, with players listed in order of their championship times or marks.

The top two times/marks are first team and the next-best two are second team.

In some events, there were ties across different classifications. In order to determine the teams, the tiebreaker was podium placement (a 1A champ got the spot over a second-place 4A athlete in the same event). If the athletes were still tied, they were each given a spot on the all-state team. There were two ties on this year's team, both in the 55 meters —two runners tied for the second spot on the first team in both time and podium finish, which would normally lead to just one runner on second team, however, two runners tied for the remaining spot on the second team in both time and podium finish, so both made the second team.
