It's shaping up to be a beautiful weekend - with highs hitting close to 80 degrees. Why not take a walk with the family!

JC Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh is hosting a Family Winter Discovery Walk from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sunday. The cost is $20 per family. The hour-long event includes a winter scavenger hunt that's designed for families with kids in elementary school and middle school.

Here's a description from the arboretum's website: "Meet us at the Bobby G. Wilder Visitor Center where we will provide you with a list of winter items you need to find as fast as you can to score the best time. Bring a camera to document your finds or we can provide you with a camera if you don't have one."

After the hunt, there will be more activities in the arboretum's yurt. Be sure to pre-register for this, which you can do on the arboretum's website. Space is limited.

The arboretum also has a Friday morning program for preschoolers and grade schoolers, but it's full. There's a waitlist.

These events are part of the arboretum's regular schedule of programs for kids and families, including summer camps. It's a beautiful place to explore!

The arboretum is at 4415 Beryl Rd., Raleigh, and is part of NC State University.
