On Feb. 22 investigators with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation from a cyber tip regarding a Snow Camp man sexually exploiting a minor.

Information was received regarding an individual who allegedly uploaded child sexual abuse material (CSAM) files to the internet.

Investigators reviewed the Kyle Anthony Layton's uploads and found probable cause to charge him for uploading files containing CSAM to the internet.

Electronic devices in Layton’s possession were seized, and he was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Layton has been charged with one count of felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and is being held on a $50,000 secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing, with more charges possible after investigators examine the seized electronic devices.
