The N.C. Center for Missing Persons on Wednesday issued a Missing Endangered Alert for 81-year-old Robert Odom Loftis.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has canceled a Missing Endangered Alert for 81-year-old Robert Odom Loftis.

The alert was issued Wednesday and canceled Thursday afternoon.

Loftis suffers from dementia and is described as non-verbal.

He is described as a white man who stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 167 pounds. He has short, gray hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing blue and gray pajama pants, a white or ivory long-sleeved shirt and blue shoes.

Loftis was last seen walking away from his home on Mabry Road in Angier.

Dozens of searchers from across the state were out all night and throughout the morning searching for Loftis in the area. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol helicopter was also seen making low passes over the Angier and Buies Creek areas in their search for the man.
