Scotty McCreery is married

Garner native and American Idol country star Scotty McCreery is married!

Last September, McCreery popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, Gabi Dugal, near Grandfather Mountain. On Saturday, McCreery shared a People article on his Facebook page, confirming his wedding.

According to the article, the two 24-year-olds married on Saturday in the North Carolina mountains, one of their favorite places.

Dugal is a graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill and currently works as a pediatric cardiac nurse at Duke University Hospital.

The couple met in kindergarten in Garner.
